Your site dashboard, as we now know lives in the back end of your website. This is where all the magic happens that allows your website to live and breath as it does.
Certain tasks will be paramount for you to effectively run your website. Don’t worry about any of the security or base management tasks though, that is our bag.
As soon as you have logged in to your dashboard, you will be faced with something that at first glance may seem a little over whelming. But don’t worry, we will have a look at your specific areas now.

The menu runs down the left of the screen of your dashboard, and lays things out in a pretty simple manner. Even though it may not seem very simple just now, once you have navigated through and used the different menu items a few times it will feel like second nature.

Now to navigate the dashboard menu structure!
There are 2 main ways to navigate here, and it most definitely works easier on a larger screened device such as a laptop, desktop or even a very handy ‘Chromebook’
Navigation option one. Hover the mouse cursor over the menu item and if any sub menu items are available they will pop out ready for your selection. for our quick example here, we will show you how to select products – Add New.

Navigation option two. Click the mouse on the menu item, such as products. This will navigate you to all the products on the site in a list, but more importantly right now, the sub menu items will appear ready to select in a new list below ‘Products’

if you are using mobile devices, tapping the screen will act like a mouse click. A small handy bit of advice with navigating the dashboard on mobile is to take your time.
That is all for the ‘Basics’ thank you for carrying out this training, and we hope you learned something helpful about the basic areas of your site.
